Welcome...

...to all participants of the training courses on the importance and the basics of sanitation techniques in Kenya. This platform is dedicated only for you to get into contact with each other, with the course administration at GIZ, with the face-to-face trainer and with the online moderators.

Breaking News

The first training will take place in Naivasha from Monday, 24.8 till Friday, 28.8.2015 By the time you read this, all participants and the trainers should be assembled at the place of the venue. All materials which are presented to you by the trainers are ready for download after the training.

You – together with the GIZ and the course administration – are supposed to develop a training manual during these first training days. The TM is based on your needs and will give you as multiplier a basic information on the keywords and the importance of a working sanitation system. Beside the fact that this training manual is the basis for the second training 28.9 till 2.10, the TM will also be part of the SafiSan platform and thus will be available for the public as well.

During the training, you will also be confronted with some basics of «Social Media». Mr. Biad will train with you once again the access to this platform and to the closed «Facebook» group

What can you do here?

As said in the above paragraph, this platform is the centre of all your activities related to the training courses. In order to prepare the training courses and the manual, we have to evaluate your existing knowledge and your wishes for the upcoming trainings (Training Needs Assessment). This is NOT a test of your knowledge, we only would like to tailor the content of the training courses to your needs.

You are supposed to perform the following actions before the first training course:

  • Proceed to «Edit your personal data» and complete your professional profile. We are most interested in the company or institution you are working for and in your function there. Please also upload a photo of yours and do not forget to click the «Save» button following the particular entries :-)
  • Read the basic material (mainly PDF documents) offered in «Download». This will allow your trainer Mr. Biad to start the presence courses at a certain level.
  • Complete the Multiple Choice Test (MCT). The results gathered here will affect the content of the training manual offered to you and your fellows. Again, please be aware that we do NOT want to check your knowledge level, we will take the results only to create an appropriate manual!
  • Please use this link to apply for membership at the closed group in Facebook. (If you are not a member to Facebook, open a new identity here. Please use parts of your full name and a real photo, not a nickname. This will help us to identify you). The role of «Social Media» in an Awareness Raising Campaign will be part of the face-to-face trainings!

Certificates

Every successful participant of the training will receive a GIZ certification of attendance signed from the GIZ program administration and the trainer/moderator Mr. Biad of Margraf Publishers.
